Leftover Challah French Toast
Who doesn’t love challah? After Shabbos, whenever we have leftover challah that will go to waste this is my go to. This recipe is perfect for a Sunday brunch or even for Monday dinner. The coffee flavor will give you a lift!!!!
3/4 cup heavy cream
½ cup whole milk
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 ½ Tablespoons coffee – dissolved in ¼ cup hot water
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
6 slices challah – cut ½ inch thick
2 Tablespoons butter
1) In a bowl combine all the ingredients besides the challah and butter. Using a fork, whisk together
making sure they are all fully combined and set aside.
2) In a frying pan over medium heat melt the butter. Soak each piece of challah in the egg/cream
mixture and place in the frying pan. DO NOT CROWD PAN! Cook until its golden brown, about 4-5
minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining slices of challah. Serve with your toppings of your choice.
